Console Pinouts

Introduction

One of the most frustrating things encountered on a data networks installation is the variety of ways in which console cables and other such leads are wired for the network equipment. In particular older equipment. This document contains diagrams detailing pinouts for various leads that are required for linking to LAN/WAN equipment. Most of the pinouts have been designed with the idea that you can make up the leads using RJ45-D9 (or D25) adapters and cable is a straight through RJ45-RJ45 cable.
